Challenged by Unity Catholic Credit Union, Taleris accepted the ALS Ice-Bucket Challenge (and challenged Emerald Credit Union for good measure). Footage of our stalwart employees meeting their ice bucket-filled fate can be found below.

ALS—A Horrible Disease

Lou Gehrig was baseball’s Iron Horse. Gehrig played in 2,130 consecutive professional baseball games…despite 17 fractures in his hands, being beaned several times, having severe back pain and suffering a slew of other illnesses and injuries. Tough guy. In 1932, he hit four home runs in one game, won baseball’s Triple Crown in 1934 and hit 23 career grand slams. He was dead before his 38th birthday.  ALS gets its nickname from him: Lou Gehrig’s disease.

ALS doesn’t care if you’re tough, famous, a regular guy, an athlete, a parent or, also like Gehrig, a truly nice person. It is a terrible disease with no cure. Amid all the Ice Bucket fun, that fact should not get lost.  So, along with dousing a few brave employees, we made a contribution to the ALS Foundation and we encourage anyone with an ice bucket in their hands to do so as well.
